Combination of “Simultaneous Enrichment Medium”
and GENOGATE chip, both developed in-house,
makes fast detection, top of the class in the industry, possible.

Outline of GENOGATE food-poisoning bacteria test

Usually each target bacteria requires a different kind of medium; however, the food-poisoning test using GENOGATE makes it possible to culture using just one kind of medium, “Simultaneous Enrichment Medium”, a proprietary technology. Combination of this “Simultaneous Enrichment Medium” and GENOGATE chip makes fast detection, top of the class in the industry.

The target of tests is major causative microorganisms that cause bacterial food poisoning such as “Escherichia coli,” “Salmonella,” “Staphylococcus aureus,” and “Vibrio parahaemolyticus.” It is also possible to simultaneously judge the presence of toxicity. With conventional test methods, it takes a few days before the result is confirmed, and different media have to be used for different target bacteria. In addition, since professional knowledge is required for culture, there are major problems including fluctuations in test accuracy and the inheritance of technology. With GENOGATE, simultaneous testing makes it possible to use just one medium and the GENOGATE chip without the need for separate culturing. In terms of judgment, the major benefit is that there will be no operator-dependent fluctuations because the test is based on objective data, i.e., DNA sequence.

Our GENOGATE was highly rated in the “Validation test on the DNA chip based detection kit of food-poisoning bacteria,” an Innovative Environment Technology Project For Green And Water - FY2014, a project of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.
