- Toyo Seikan Group joins the Ellen MacArthur Foundation
-The first Japanese packaging manufacturer to join the organization that develops and promotes the idea of a circular economy-
Toyo Seikan Group Holdings, Ltd. (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President Ichio Otsuka, hereinafter "TSG") is pleased to announce that it has joined the Ellen MacArthur Foundation (hereinafter ''the Foundation'') in the United Kingdom, for the purpose of gaining knowledge about the circular economy and collaborating with other member companies.
TSG is the fourth Japanese company and the first Japanese packaging manufacturer to become a member of the Foundation's Network.
The Foundation is a charity established in 2010 to accelerate the transition to a circular economy on a global scale, working with business, academia policymakers, and institutions.
Through workshops hosted by the Foundation and participation in collaborative projects with other Network companies, TSG will contribute to the circular economy transition by offering a wide range of packaging containers/solutions in accordance with the situation in each country/region, such as the environmentally-friendly can-making system with a smaller footprint, taking advantage of our strength as a comprehensive packaging manufacturer dealing with various materials such as metal, plastic, paper and glass.
