"Lumisus" Aluminum Cup Developed by Toyo Seikan and Tokan Kogyo Receives the 47th Kinoshita Prize
- Creation of new value by reducing environmental impact and pursuing usability -

Toyo Seikan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Toyo Seikan") and Tokan Kogyo Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tokan Kogyo"), two consolidated subsidiaries of Toyo Seikan Group Holdings Ltd., have jointly developed an environmentally friendly, one-way beverage container called "Lumisus." This innovative container won the prize in the New Creation Category at the 47th Kinoshita Prize,* sponsored by the Japan Packaging Institute (JPI). On June 13, the award ceremony was held at Josui Kaikan in Chiyoda, Tokyo. The Lumisus also received the Beverage Packaging Category Award at the Japanese Packaging Contest 2022, sponsored by the JPI.

* This prize is presented to JPI members who make remarkable achievements in the fields of (a) research and development (of packaging techniques), (b) improvement and rationalization (of packages) and (c) outstanding achievement in creating a new field of packaging.
