Toyo Seikan Group has many technological elements for working with metals, plastics, paper, glass, and other materials, which have been developed over many years as part of creating new products, including packaging containers. We are now leveraging these technologies in different fields and new business areas, developing products that combine multiple such technologies.
As part of these new business initiatives, Toyo Seikan Group Holdings has launched a new functional materials brand for electronic devices called MiraNeo® and has developed Ultra Moisture Barrier Film as one of its lineup.
This film boasts the world’s highest level of moisture barrier performance and high durability, providing a significant advantage over competing products in the market.
There is significant interest in Ultra Moisture Barrier Film in the solar power generation panel industry, and we are expanding the MiraNeo® brand through an investment in Enfoil BV, a pioneer in next-generation flexible solar power generation panels. Since March 2025, we have been shipping MiraNeo® film products to Enfoil BV, which plans to begin manufacturing solar power generation panel products using this film.
Meanwhile, in Japan, we plan to verify the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction effect by mounting solar power generation panels incorporating MiraNeo® products onto the roofs of Toyo Mebius Co., Ltd.’s logistics trucks to generate electricity.
By using MiraNeo® Ultra Moisture Barrier Film for solar power generation panels, we aim to reduce GHG emissions through the promotion of clean energy to realize a sustainable society.

The film’s structure is resistant to pinhole defects, which are common in film materials, making it more effective in preventing moisture permeation over an extended period.
Toyo Seikan Group will continue to promote the use of MiraNeo® brand products in various fields, driving the creation of new systems that help to solve social issues. In addition to the early implementation of MiraNeo® films in solar power generation panels, we will seek to expand into surface protection films for OLED signage and other applications.
