Toyo Mebius Co., Ltd (“Toyo Mebius”), a consolidated subsidiary of Toyo Seikan Group Holdings, Ltd., in collaboration with TESS Engineering Co., Ltd. (“TESS Engineering”; President: Toshihiro Takasaki)—has installed an on-site self-consumption solar power generation system1 at Toyo Mebius’s Takatsuki Logistics Center and plans to start using renewable energy electricity from the system in February 2026.
Toyo Seikan Group is committed to realizing a decarbonized society as part of the mid- to long-term environmental goals in its Eco Action Plan 2030. It aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% across the entire group by fiscal year 2030, compared to fiscal year 2019, and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The introduction of electricity from renewable energy sources is one of the key initiatives for achieving this goal.
TESS Engineering has installed a self-consumption solar power generation system on the rooftops of Toyo Mebius’s Takatsuki Logistics Center and will own and maintain that system under an on-site power purchase agreement (PPA) model, providing electricity from renewable sources. The generation capacity is approximately 2.3 MW, with an estimated annual power generation of about 2,610,000 kWh, which will all be supplied to the Takatsuki Logistics, resulting in an expected reduction in emissions of approximately 1,101 t-CO22 annually. In addition to reducing GHG emissions, such projects eliminate the need for initial investments to install solar power generation systems for consumers of renewable electricity while securing stable power supplies over the long term that are unaffected by fluctuations in power demand or fuel availability.

1 A power purchase agreement is a contract under which a power generation operator owns and maintains a power-production facility, such as a self-consumption solar power plant, and supplies electricity generated from that plant to a consumer.
2 Calculated using an alternative emission factor of 0.000422 t-CO₂/kWh for electricity suppliers.

Toyo Mebius was established in October 2008 through the merger of three logistics companies belonging to Toyo Seikan—a company with a long history. Since then, leveraging its strongest asset—its nationwide transportation capabilities—Toyo Mebius has set up its own warehouses in various locations, expanded the range of products that it handles, and thus grown into a comprehensive logistics company. In 2011, it established an overseas base in Bangkok, Thailand, entering both the international and Thai logistics sectors.
Toyo Mebius’s highest mission is to deliver its customers’ valuable products safely, surely, and promptly. The company remains committed to contributing to society while never forgetting that it is engaged in work that supports people’s lives.
