Privacy Policy

Policy for the Protection of Personal Information

Toyo Seikan Group Holdings, Ltd. (the "Company") has established this policy as a guideline for the protection of personal information of consumers; shareholders, officers and employees of its customers, suppliers and related companies; and other individuals (“information subjects”) held by the Company. The purpose of this policy is for the Company to fulfill its social responsibility as a packaging manufacturing group and to earn the trust of its customers and other stakeholders.

1.  Acquisition of Personal Information

The Company shall acquire personal information in a fair and lawful manner.

2.  Public Announcement and Notification of Purpose of Use of Personal Information

When acquiring personal information, the Company shall, in principle, announce the purpose of use in advance on its website to notify information subjects of the purpose of use.

3.  Use of Personal Information

The Company shall use personal information within the scope of the purpose of use set forth in the Appendix, and shall not provide personal information to any third party in Japan or any foreign country without prior consent of the relevant information subjects.

4.  Sharing of Personal Information

The Company shares its customers’ personal information, including individual names, company and department names and contact details, with its group companies for the purpose of introducing products and services of the Company and its group companies, providing various information and facilitating marketing activities. With respect to the shared personal information, the Company shall receive requests for disclosure and other handling as well as complaints from customers. In addition, the Company shall be entitled to disclose and correct the content of the shared information and to suspend the use of such information, and shall be responsible for the management of such information, including security control.

5.  Security Protection of Personal Information

The Company shall endeavor to keep personal information accurate and up-to-date to the extent required to achieve the purposes of use.
In addition, the Company shall take necessary and appropriate security control measures to prevent personal information from being leaked, lost or damaged.

6.  Supervision of Outsourcing Service Provider

The Company may outsource the handling of personal information to a third party. In such case, the Company shall select an appropriate third-party outsourcing service provider and exercise sufficient supervision of such provider to ensure the security control of the entrusted personal information.

7.  Disclosure and Other Handling of Personal Information

When the Company receives a request from an information subject, with respect to personal information held by the Company, for notification of the purpose of use; disclosure; correction of, addition to or deletion of the content; suspension of use; deletion; or suspension of provision to a third party (a “request for disclosure and other handling”), the Company shall faithfully respond to such request in accordance with applicable laws and regulations as well as its internal rules and operational guidelines for personal information protection.

The Company has set up the following contact point to faithfully respond to requests for disclosure and other handling and complaints about the handling of personal information from information subjects. 9.  Organization for the Protection of Personal Information

The Company shall appoint a director or operating officer in charge of information management to ensure proper control of personal information.

10.  Establishment of Rules for Personal Information Protection

The Company shall establish the rules and operational guidelines for personal information protection, and shall ensure that its officers and employees fully understand and implement such rules and guidelines. It shall also conduct audits of their implementation status on a timely basis to make necessary improvements.

11.  Education and Training Programs

The Company shall exercise sufficient supervision of its employees to ensure security control of personal information. To properly manage personal information, the Company shall provide its officers and employees with education and training programs regarding this policy and its rules and operational guidelines for personal information protection.

12.  Compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations

The Company shall comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations in order to protect personal information.
