Tokan Logitech Co., Ltd. certified as a "Comprehensive Efficiency Plan" based on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Logistics Comprehensive Efficiency Act

Tokan Logitech Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of our company, has been working with four joint applicants, including McDonald's Japan Co., Ltd. and its partner companies, to reduce CO2 emissions and truck driver driving times in the transportation of packaging materials for McDonald's Japan Co., Ltd., and on September 24th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's Kyushu Regional Transport Bureau certified the plan as a comprehensive efficiency plan under the Logistics Integration and Efficiency Act.

What is the Logistics Comprehensive Efficiency Act?

- Strengthening the international competitiveness of Japanese industries
・Responding to smaller and more frequent shipments of cargo due to the increasing sophistication and diversification of consumer demand
・Reducing environmental impact
・Securing the labor necessary for distribution operations

To this end, the program certifies and provides support to certified businesses that are jointly undertaken by two or more parties to integrate distribution operations (integrating transportation, storage, cargo handling, and distribution processing) and improve efficiency (rationalizing transportation), which contribute to reducing environmental impact and saving labor (distribution business comprehensive efficiency improvement businesses).

This initiative will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by switching from land transport by truck for all routes to rail freight transport for more than 90% of the transport distance, and will also contribute to working style reform for truck drivers by shortening their driving time.
