Packaging container products provided by six of our consolidated subsidiaries won the Packaging Technology Award *1 (3 products) and the Packaging Category Award *2 (5 products) at the "2026 Japan Packaging Contest" hosted by the Japan Packaging Technology Association.
Toyo Seikan Group lists "Products and services that support various lifestyles development and provision" and "Developing and offering products and services that are environmentally sound development and provision" as materiality (key issues), and through the development and provision of these products and services, we will continue to contribute to the environment and the realization of a sustainable society.

• EcoEnd™, a next-generation beverage can lid that reduces environmental impact (Packaging Technology Award - Appropriate Packaging Award)
This next-generation aluminum beverage can lid reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by approximately 40%. By significantly increasing the amount of recycled materials used, GHG emissions per billion lids are reduced by approximately 13,000 tons *3 compared to conventional beverage can lids.

- Wind-resistant paper plates (Packaging category award - Food packaging category award)
Because there is no gap between the rim of the paper plate and the ground, and the structure prevents wind from getting underneath the plate, it is less likely to be blown away by the wind compared to conventional paper plates. In addition, it also boasts durability for handling, resistance to oil and heat thanks to its coating, and an aesthetically pleasing shape thanks to its new design.

・KEWPIE MAYONNAISE 700g (Packaging Category Award - Food Packaging Category Award)
This cap reduces environmental impact while maintaining ease of use. By designing the cap height lower and reducing the uneven surface area on the sides, the amount of plastic used has been reduced by about 17% compared to previous models. Additionally, by positioning the spout from the center to the front, a structure has been realized that prevents mayonnaise from dripping even when the spout is lower.

• RTS *4 500ml Glass bottle (Packaging Technology Award - Accessible Design Packaging Award)
This beverage bottle has been made lighter, weighing 215g per bottle from the conventional 320g, and is expected to reduce annual CO₂ emissions by approximately 380 tons compared to the conventional product. The lighter weight also improves ease of handling, and the introduction of Braille markings further enhances usability.

This glass bottle combines safety, environmental friendliness, and beauty. For its 55th anniversary renewal, the bottle's shoulder features a diamond-cut design, creating a universal design that makes it easy to open even for children or those with weak hands. Furthermore, the bottle's body is marked with Braille for "Jam" and "Aohata," demonstrating a commitment to user-friendliness.

- Handy Rice Dispenser (Packaging Technology Award - Packaging Idea Award)
This is a paper container for retort rice that can be heated in a microwave and eaten with one hand. Its unique double-layer structure and bottom locking mechanism provide insulation to the paper sleeve itself.

・20L BIB frameless design with improved pressure resistance (Packaging category award - Transport packaging category award)
This BIB (Bag in Box) *6 consolidates the materials, which previously consisted of an outer box and a body frame *5, into a single part of the outer box, thereby reducing material costs by 25% compared to conventional products while maintaining strength and internal pressure, and improving work efficiency. Compared to the previous product which lacked a body frame, this product has approximately 80% greater strength in the outer box.

*6 Liquid transport container consisting of a plastic bag placed inside a cardboard box.
- Fixing material for T-57 bracket + outer box (Packaging category award - Industrial packaging category award)
This cardboard box achieves plastic-free packaging by securing and protecting products using only cardboard, eliminating the need for cushioning materials and plastic bags that were previously required. The design has also been improved by changing the packaging structure from one where products are placed upright to one where they are placed horizontally.
The Japan Packaging Contest is an annual competition organized by the Japan Packaging Technology Association, with the aim of "contributing to the development and dissemination of superior packaging and technologies that meet the demands of the times and society and contribute to lifestyle culture." It determines the best and most outstanding packaging of the year, from design to logistics.
