Moisture transmission rate (WVTR) *1 It has a low fluorine content and achieves moisture barrier performance comparable to glass. Fluorine-free. *2 Therefore, PFAS has been used in many existing thin solar module outer sheets. *3 This film offers an alternative to conventional materials, combining environmental friendliness with high performance.
*1 Water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) is an indicator that shows how much water vapor a material such as a film can pass through in a certain amount of time.

It has demonstrated high durability in various tests simulating harsh environments, and is expected to prevent moisture intrusion over long periods. Another feature is its structure, which is less prone to pinhole defects common in film materials. This makes it easier to maintain high moisture barrier performance stably, encouraging its application in applications requiring durability.

MiraNeo® ultra-high moisture barrier film offers high productivity through its roll-to-roll technology, enabling high-speed production. Its strength lies in its ability to continuously perform a series of processes, using wide roll film as a base and laminating application-specific materials via wet coating or dry lamination. This combination of high performance and mass production capability supports a wide range of applications.

This product is expected to be used in a wide range of fields, including solar power modules, OLED digital signage, storage batteries, and electronic device components requiring weather resistance.
We have already commercialized cases for the surface and back sheets of CIGS-based solar modules and the surface sheets of OLED digital signage, and are expanding these as functional materials that contribute to improving the performance and widespread adoption of next-generation devices.
In addition to being able to manufacture up to 1,400mm width, customization is possible according to required performance and color. Leveraging Toyo Seikan Group 's cultivated material compatibility technology, we design to meet the specifications required for each application, enabling deployment across a wide range of electronic device fields.
Given the growing problem of perfluorinated compounds (PFAS), especially overseas, the development of fluorine-free solutions is highly commendable. We hope that this will become a leading example of environmentally friendly flexible solar cells, which are expected to become more widespread in the future.
